It’s one of the hotspots in Manhattan and there are plenty of great things to do while you’re in the vicinity of this historic location.

To help you get a glimpse of exactly what you can expect when visiting this section of Manhattan, we will provide details of some of the best restaurants and attractions in the area for all to enjoy.

With that said, we will now take a look at this exciting place in greater detail.

    Visiting Titanic Memorial Park

What’s so special about [Titanic Memorial Park]( in New York City? This exciting destination is the home of the Titanic Memorial, which is a 60 foot tall lighthouse located on the corner of Fulton and Pearl Street in Manhattan.

When the RMS Titanic crashed on April 15, 1912, and all of those good people died, Margaret Brown wanted to make sure we never forgot them and the sacrifice they made on this perilous journey. That’s why the lighthouse was created, and it’s the reason why it is still standing more than 100 years later.

This memorial was not always in the South Street Seaport. Believe it or not, when it was first erected it stood above the East River on the top roof of the Seamen’s Church Institute of New York and New Jersey. In truth, the Memorial was actually functional as well, because there is a time ball at the top and when it drops down the pole it actually signals that it’s 12 o’clock in the afternoon to let the ships in the harbor know the time.

Since this memorial is located in the heart of the financial district, there are plenty of other interesting and exciting things to do while here. We will look at some of the other wonderful attractions, restaurants, and more below.
